The Digital Innovations Internship Program (DIIP) officially kicked off on Monday, June 2nd, 2025, with a vibrant orientation session that brought together more than 40 university students—the largest cohort since the program began. This growth is a clear reflection of the value DIIP continues to provide to youth, especially university students seeking to build careers in the digital economy.
During the orientation, we had the privilege of welcoming back three outstanding alumni—Frank, Tracy, and Eldon—who have previously gone through our programs. Their return as guest speakers was both inspiring and symbolic. It showed the full-circle impact of the program: young people who were once mentored through DIIP are now stepping up to guide others. Their personal stories, filled with challenges, growth, and achievement, served as powerful motivation for this year’s participants.
This year’s DIIP is packed with practical, industry-aligned modules that run until July 31st. Participants will explore content creation, camera use, graphic design, video editing, UI/UX design using Figma, and CMS development using WordPress. They will also explore livestreaming tools like OBS, AI tools for media such as Runway ML, ChatGPT, and Canva AI, as well as software development using Laravel and React Native. The inclusion of Human-Centered Design ensures that all digital solutions created are built with empathy and user needs in mind.
One of the most exciting aspects of the program is that by the end of the internship, every participant is expected to transform an idea into a working prototype. This hands-on, solution-oriented approach is what sets DIIP apart and prepares youth for the real world. Whether launching a digital brand, creating a media platform, or automating a business process using AI, the outcomes of this program are tangible and lasting.
As the journey unfolds, we are reminded of why DIIP exists—to equip, to empower, and to elevate young innovators into leaders of the digital age. The coming weeks will be filled with creativity, learning, collaboration, and impact.
