Tushabe Ronard
Founder/Executive Director
Ronard Tushabe is a passionate professional with over six years of experience in technology, innovations, and business development. He specializes in training and mentoring young people, particularly university students in Uganda, to identify ideas and transform them into tech and innovative startups.
Currently pursuing a Master of Engineering in Science and Technology Entrepreneurship (ESTEEM) at the University of Notre Dame, Ronard holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Mbarara University of Science and Technology.
In his role as the Founder and Director of Empower Youth in Technology (EYIT), he has successfully built the capacity of over 100 young people each year, resulting in the development of five technology solutions and the transformation of more than 50 non-technology ideas into viable products and services.
Ronard previously worked at Mbarara University of Science and Technology in the Public Relations Office where he was responsible for creating content for the university’s website and social media platforms, and in the Department of Computing Services as a Systems Support Engineer, where he trained over 4,000 students and 500 staff members on the Academic Information Management System (AIMS). Additionally, as an Ambassador and Consultant for Hive Colab, he fostered stakeholder relationships that led to funding opportunities for numerous startups.
Throughout his career, Ronard has won over 6 grants, 2 awards, and two fellowships including the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship. He has also played a crucial role in impactful projects like the Primary Education Performance Assessment System (PEPAS) and the AccountantApp, which aim to enhance education and financial record-keeping for small businesses in Uganda, EYIT TV and EYIT Startup Financing Imitative (ESFI)
